Workplace violence laws now in effect: Are you ready?
The Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) can help you understand what your company needs to do in order to comply with Ontario’s new workplace violence legislation. The association is offering a half-day workshop that will shed light on the new requirements. This workshop is for provincially regulated firms that work within the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
IHSA has been working hard to provide options for members as they develop workplace violence and harassment policies and programs. IHSA has taken a four-tiered approach to helping our membership. Tiers one and two have been available on our website, and provide you with the basic information, with reference to tools, needed in order to get started. Tier three involved direct consultations from IHSA staff with our membership for ongoing assistance.
Now that June 15 has passed, IHSA realizes that many of our members require further guidance. This fourth tier comes in the format of a half-day workshop in which participants will engage with an IHSA representative, and colleagues, and be able to walk away with the following:
- a framework for your own workplace violence and harassment policies
- a customized risk assessment tool for your workplace
- an understanding of the elements needed to develop your program
- advice on any questions you still have.
