Walk the Road to Zero
The emotional and financial toll of 80 to 100 workplace fatalities each year, and 1600 workplace injuries, related illnesses and fatalities each week, has spurred Health & Safety Ontario to initiate The Road to Zero.
There are two kinds of falls—same level or from height. 80 workers are injured every day because of a fall—that’s one every 20 minutes.
The Ontario government has announced the appointment of George Gritziotis as the province’s first Chief Prevention Officer, as part of its commitment to workplace health and safety.
