Workplace safety can relieve pressure on an overburdened health care system
Canadians are paying more than ever for a health care system that is under strain and in need of transformation. Glen Hodgson, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist with the Conference Board of Canada, will speak to the need for change and the critical role that workplace prevention programs can play in the transformation of Canada’s ailing health care system – on Tuesday, April 30 at 2 p.m. as part of the Partners in Prevention 2013 Health & Safety Conference and Trade Show, at the International Centre, Mississauga, ON.

Safety experts shed light on workforce changes at Partners in Prevention Conference, 2013
Emerging trends and issues in workplace hazards, risk management, and occupational health and safety legislation are the focus of this year's Partners in Prevention 2013. As Canada's largest health and safety event, the annual conference plays host to over 4,500 leading health and safety experts and delegates from across Canada. It takes place this year from April 30 to May 1, at the International Centre, Mississauga , Ontario.

Two task groups appointed to study prevention among vulnerable workers, small business
Ontario Chief Prevention Officer George Gritziotis has assigned two new task groups to consult and provide advice on vulnerable workers and about small business. Each task group has 12 members: six worker representatives and six employer representatives. They will study the issues, gather information, and report back over a period of not more than 30 months.
